Runner-up #5: Sarah Scroggins, Coordinator, Public Affairs and Marketing at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital
“I am still early in my career but have had a wealth of experience in my almost 5 years in a professional public relations environment. I always want to learn and better myself in the field whether it is my writing, pitching or social media. What better way to do that than to learn from one of the best in the business?”
Runner-up #4: Kaitlin Rogers, Burke Communications
“Though I am still starting my PR career, just graduating with a Master’s Degree and in my first year as a PR Manager for a small advertising and marketing agency in Charlotte, NC, I feel this conference offers another teachable moment in my professional journey. As part of the incoming generation of Public Relation and Marketing professionals, I think it is vital that young professionals find a way to balance the digital age and the precedent of face-to-face communication.”
Runner-up #3: Jamie Sherman, Publisher Fort Lauderdale Online
“I have always looked to Arianna as a mentor, and an inspiration to reenergize my own life in the second half. After a nasty car accident, and unable to pursue my previous profession, she gave me the confidence I needed to charge ahead with a challenging website that I designed and publish myself from home. Marketing my site is always the biggest challenge, so I would appreciate the opportunity to learn more from someone who has obviously got that nailed! Honestly, she is like a motivating friend, perched on my shoulder, urging me on.”
Meanwhile, Runner-up #2 Dawn Meade made this fantastic video on why she wants to attend and meet Arianna.
But our WINNER is Daniel Sentell of Broad Financial, who takes the gold (and the trip to DC) with his winning entry below. We especially love the creative poster he made us:
“Arianna – heck yeah! She has accomplished the PR platonic ideal of being honest as to her personal beliefs, über honest as to her media drive, and yet still recognized as a credible media source. That’s the kind of personal magic we can all use. And to hear Arianna speak at a Vocus marketing conference… Well! Let’s just say this event is the meta marketer’s dream: a PR push to engender PR pros’ interest in a PR session which will develop their own PR capabilities which will certainly be used at a later date to pitch presentations like this one. It’s the Matrix taken to a whole new level. Every beginning doesn’t have to have an end.”
