Jim Wyss is the South America correspondent for The Miami Herald. He covers general news in Latin and South American areas. Previously, Wyss served as an Ecuador bureau chief and market reporter for Bridge Laboratories, which is located in Gaithersburg, Md. He also served as a reporter and copy editor for the Mexico City News.

Wyss graduated from American University with bachelor’s degrees in journalism and Spanish. He earned his master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
