Lydia Kulbida is an evening anchor and reporter at WTEN in Albany, N.Y. She joined the station in September 2009. Prior to that, Kulbida worked at WNYT-TV, which she joined in January 2000. In her first year at WNYT, she was part of a team that received the Best Newscast award from the New York State Broadcaster’s Association. She has also worked at WWLP-TV in Springfield, Mass., where she anchored the 5 p.m. news and reported for more than four years. She has also anchored and reported at TV-8 in Glens Falls, N.Y. She then spent four years in Buffalo, N.Y., working as a news anchor and music director for the city’s National Public Radio affiliate, WBFO-FM. The Massachusetts Society honored Kulbida for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children for her work in promoting the safety and welfare of children.
Kulbida has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from New York University.
