Ventura County Star names new editor

John Moore has been promoted to editor of the Ventura County Star. He replaces Joe Howry, who retired at the end of June. Throughout his 13 years at the paper, Moore has served as managing editor, assistant managing editor and county editor. In addition, he has worked for Scripps Howard News Service in Washington, D.C., the Gallup Independent in New Mexico, and the Associated Press.

The Ventura County Star has a daily circulation of approximately 64,000. It serves the Ventura County, Calif. area.
