Virginia’s The Hook newspaper names new editor

The Hook senior editor Courteney Stuart has been named editor of the paper, effective Jan. 1. She replaces Hawes Spences, who has served as the editor for the past 11 years. Prior to the newspaper, Stuart also served as an assistant editor for Style Weekly from 1996 to 1997.
The Hook has a weekly circulation of approximately 19,800. It serves the Charlottesville, Va., area.
