CNN’s managing editor resigns

Mark Whitaker has stepped down as the managing editor at Cable News Network (CNN). Whitaker, a former Newsweek editor, has been with CNN since 2011 as both executive vice president and managing editor. His resignation coincides with Jeff Zucker’s appointment to president at the network. Zucker will take over Whitaker’s editorial role at CNN.
