The industrial era built a mass media system that empowered brands to easily market and make money by spending money. In the Internet era, the conversation has turned. Consumers don’t have to accept mediocre media and products, breaking the traditional marketing model. Today, marketing is about attracting and engaging people with great products by telling compelling stories, and getting your audience to talk about you.
So what does marketing mean to you and your company? If it’s done right, marketing means success. We asked luminaries including Author Seth Godin, Author C.C. Chapman, Author Geoff Livingston. Author Dorie Clark, 3M Social Media Leader Gregory Gerik, IEEE President Karen Bartleson, and Author Peter Shankman to share their thoughts.
Over the course of a few months, Vocus interviewed more than two dozen experts and influencers on the State of Marketing. Our efforts produced nine short videos that we’re releasing over the next couple of months in a thought leadership video series.
You can now see all State of Marketing videos released to date here. Our fourth video in the series, “The State of PR” will debut on Tuesday next week.
